Stay informed about every transaction, balance change, and login attempt on your Eglin FCU accounts. Configure real-time notifications by push, email, or SMS — set custom thresholds, choose delivery channels, and add secondary recipients for deployed family visibility. All alerts are free for every member.
Eglin Federal Credit Union account alerts transform passive banking into active financial awareness. Instead of discovering a low balance after a transaction declines, or learning about an unauthorized charge days later on a statement, members receive instant notifications the moment account activity triggers a predefined rule. The alert system integrates with online banking and the mobile app, delivering notifications through Apple Push Notification Service, Firebase Cloud Messaging, email, and SMS. Deployed members benefit most — a service member in a different time zone receives the same real-time visibility as someone stationed locally. The system processes over 1.2 million alert deliveries per month across the Eglin FCU membership. All alert configurations comply with Electronic Fund Transfer Act notification requirements and NCUA cybersecurity best practices.
Seven categories covering every significant account event.
Set a dollar threshold on any checking or share savings account. When the available balance drops below that amount, you receive an immediate notification. Most members set thresholds between $100 and $500. This alert prevents overdraft fees and lets you transfer funds before a scheduled payment fails. Joint account holders can each set independent thresholds.
Trigger a notification when any single debit or credit exceeds a specified amount. Set it at $100 to catch unusual purchases, or $500 to monitor only significant activity. The alert fires for debit card purchases, ACH debits, checks cleared, wire transfers, and point-of-sale transactions. It does not fire for pending authorizations that later void.
Receive a notification for every debit card transaction, regardless of amount. This provides a real-time transaction log on your phone and serves as an immediate fraud detection tool. If you receive a card purchase alert for a transaction you did not make, you can freeze your card instantly through the mobile app and call (850) 862-0111.
Get notified whenever someone logs in to your Eglin FCU online banking or mobile app from a new device or IP address. The alert includes the device type, approximate location, and timestamp. If you do not recognize the login, take immediate action by changing your password and contacting member services.
Receive reminders before loan payment due dates. Configure alerts for 7 days before, 3 days before, or the day of the due date. This applies to auto loans, personal loans, mortgages, and credit card minimum payments. Members who also use Bill Pay with auto-pay typically use this alert as a backup confirmation.
Know the moment your paycheck, military pay, or any ACH credit posts to your account. The alert includes the deposit amount and source description. Service members using DFAS direct deposit receive this notification on payday morning, confirming that funds are available before initiating any transfers or payments.
Get notified when an incoming wire transfer posts to your account. The alert includes the amount and a reference number. This is particularly useful for members receiving real estate closing proceeds, insurance settlements, or funds wired from family members.
Choose how and where you receive each alert.
Each alert type can be delivered through one, two, or all three channels simultaneously. Push notifications deliver through the Eglin FCU mobile app on iOS and Android — the fastest channel, typically arriving within 5 seconds of the triggering event. Email alerts deliver to any email address on file and include more detail than push notifications. SMS text alerts deliver to your registered mobile number and work on any phone capable of receiving text messages.
To set up alerts, log in to online banking or the mobile app. Navigate to Settings, then Alerts. Each alert type has its own configuration panel where you select delivery channels, set thresholds (where applicable), and optionally add a secondary recipient. Changes save instantly and take effect on the next qualifying event. There is no activation delay.
Before deploying, add your spouse's email or phone number as a secondary alert recipient. They will receive duplicate notifications for every alert you configure. This maintains household financial visibility while you are focused on mission requirements. Secondary recipients can view alerts but cannot access your accounts or modify settings. Remove the secondary recipient at any time through the Alerts settings panel.

Yes. Eglin Federal Credit Union allows members to add a secondary alert recipient for any alert type. Add your spouse's email address or phone number under the Alerts settings panel. They will receive the same notifications you do, in real time. Remove the secondary recipient at any time.
Eglin FCU offers alerts for low balance thresholds, large transaction amounts, card purchases, login attempts from new devices, payment due dates, direct deposit arrivals, and wire transfer receipts. Each type is independently configurable with custom thresholds and delivery channel preferences.
Push notifications and email alerts work on any internet connection worldwide. SMS alerts may not deliver reliably to international phone numbers depending on carrier agreements. For deployed service members, Eglin FCU recommends using push notifications through the mobile app and email as primary channels.
