Centralized Payment Management for Military Households

Eglin Federal Credit Union Bill Pay replaces the fragmented process of logging into multiple creditor websites with a single, secure payment console. Members add payees by name, account number, and address — or search the pre-loaded payee database covering thousands of national and regional billers. Once a payee is saved, payments can be scheduled in under 30 seconds. The system supports electronic delivery to enrolled billers and physical check mailing to payees that do not accept electronic payments. Eglin FCU processes over 185,000 bill payments per year through this service, with a 99.7% on-time delivery rate. The platform meets all CFPB Regulation E requirements for electronic fund transfers and error resolution.

How Bill Pay Works

Add payees, schedule payments, and let the system handle delivery.

Adding Payees

Navigate to Bill Pay inside Eglin FCU online banking or the mobile app. Click Add Payee and either search for the biller by name or enter their information manually. You will need the payee name, your account number with that payee, and their payment address. The system verifies the payee and confirms electronic or check delivery eligibility within seconds. There is no limit to the number of payees you can store.

One-Time vs. Recurring Payments

One-time payments execute on the date you specify. Recurring payments repeat on your chosen schedule — weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. Set an end date, a maximum number of payments, or leave the schedule open-ended until you cancel. Modify or cancel any recurring schedule at any time without contacting member services. Cancellations take effect before the next scheduled payment date.

E-Bills

Participating billers can send electronic bills directly to your Eglin FCU Bill Pay inbox. E-bills display the amount due, due date, and minimum payment. You can pay directly from the e-bill notification with a single click or set auto-pay rules that pay the full balance, minimum due, or a fixed amount on arrival.

Delivery Timelines and Cancellation

Know when your payment arrives and how to stop one if needed.

Electronic payments reach most enrolled payees within 1-2 business days of the scheduled send date. Check payments — mailed to payees without electronic enrollment — require 5-7 business days for delivery. Rush electronic payments, submitted before 4:00 PM CT, deliver same business day for a $9.95 fee. Always schedule payments at least 3 business days before the due date to build in a buffer for weekends and federal holidays.

To cancel a pending payment, locate it in your Scheduled Payments list and select Cancel. Electronic payments can be cancelled up until the processing cutoff on the send date. Check payments can be cancelled until the check is printed, typically the business day after scheduling. Already-processed payments cannot be reversed through Bill Pay — contact Eglin FCU member services at (850) 862-0111 for assistance with payment disputes.

Military Allotments vs. Bill Pay

Active-duty members often debate whether to use DFAS allotments or Eglin FCU Bill Pay for recurring obligations. Allotments deduct funds from your paycheck before deposit, which is useful for fixed amounts like Thrift Savings Plan contributions, support payments, or savings goals. Bill Pay offers more flexibility: adjust amounts month to month, skip a payment during leave, or cancel without filing paperwork with your unit finance office. Many Eglin FCU members use allotments for fixed savings and Bill Pay for variable expenses like utilities and credit cards.
